In addition to his roles at Viking Gold, Mr. Mark Edwards is the Managing Partner, Finance & Analysis, of 4Growth Management Consultants based in Markham, Ontario.
Mark understands several different financial accounting systems, financial reporting systems and corporate governance for all levels of business.
As a partner in Gilmore & Company, Chartered Accountants, for over 20 years, Mark has extensive experience with companies of all sizes - from the small startup to international, mid-size companies. The accounting firm not only provided accounting, audit and tax services, but assisted with arranging financing through various sources, both public and private.
Mark has been involved at the senior management level in smaller public companies including the CEO and CFO roles as well as being a Director. Through these experiences, he is well aware of the issues and constraints facing public companies today.
Mark is an Ontario CPA (2013), CA (1979) and also holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo (1978).
As past President of ESO Uranium Corp., the predecessor of Alpha Minerals Inc., Mr. Jonathan (Jon) George was instrumental in assembling one of the largest land packages in the Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan. Alpha and its partner Fission Energy have recently made one of the most significant uranium discoveries in recent history on their Patterson Lake South joint venture. Jonathan was the President and Co-founder of Creston Moly Corp, which acquired Mexico's largest molybdenum deposit. Creston merged with Mercator Minerals in 2011 in a transaction valued at more than $176 million.
Jonathan is also a director of Tosca Mining Corporation.
Jonathan graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology in 1981.
Mr. John McCleery is a private businessman who has raised in excess of $50 million in capital for public companies in various stages of development, exploration and commercialization. For the last 25 years, John has been the catalyst for various start-up companies and he has taken many private and public businesses to full implementation and commercialization. John was a founding director of Creston Moly Corp in 2000, growing the business to develop the largest molybdenum deposit in all of Mexico and facilitating a $40+ million financing to drive the business forward. More recently, he participated in a multi-million dollar merger with Tenajon Resources.
John is the President and CEO, and a Director of Pedro Resources Ltd., and is based in Vancouver, Canada.
John has served on many boards of both public and private companies in a number of capacities. He is involved in a number of other ventures, that are at varying stages of development and commercialization, as either a founder, principal or advisor.
Mr. Simon Meredith specializes in working with venture companies listed on both the Toronto Venture and Bermuda Exchanges. Simon understands acquisitions, mergers and divestitures, banking and investor relations, and the creation of sound financial infrastructures to support the ongoing movements of emerging and established businesses alike.
Dr. John Hansuld has served Canada’s mining and minerals sector with distinction. As a scientist, John advanced the application of geochemical techniques to mineral exploration and enhanced the profile and prestige of its practitioners. As a corporate leader, he built Amax Exploration (Canada) into a premier exploration and mine development group later taken public as Canamax Resources Inc.
He was also instrumental in transforming the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) from a largely Canadian organization to one of global influence. As PDAC President from 1993 to 1996, John helped revitalize the association by adopting a new logo, establishing a strategic plan and expanding the international focus of its annual convention. He was named PDAC’s Developer of the Year Award in 1989, in addition to other awards and honors bestowed over the years.
John is also recognized for his leadership role in using the "flow-through share" tax-incentive program to fund Canadian mineral exploration at a time when many juniors were finding it difficult to access traditional capital markets. Flowthrough shares became a popular financing option, envied worldwide and used with great success to discover and develop mineral deposits in Canada.
John holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Honours Geology) at McMaster University (1954), a Ph.D. in geological sciences from McGill University (1961), and a PMD from Harvard Business Schoold (1968).
